“Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.” Albert Einstein

Carol Braverman – LAc, MS, DiplOM

Carol Braverman, LAc, MS, Diplomate in Oriental Medicine

I am a Colorado state licensed acupuncturist having worked in New York City as a NY state licensed acupuncturist prior to moving to Denver, CO. I am a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). My Masters in Science from Touro College totalled 4,000 hours of training and education, including 1,000 clinical hours in the clinic and in a hospital. In NY I worked at an satellite clinic for St. Vincent’s hospital and in two private MD practices, all in pain management.

I came to Eastern Medicine through the study and practice of the internal arts qigong and bagua, which I did for many years before experiencing acupuncture. When I was introduced to acupuncture, I was at the peak of health, or so I thought. Acupuncture felt equivalent to 10 years o qigong, and all I had to do was lie on the table! At first I thought the acupuncture simply made me feel even better but through my first series of treatments I found several health issues I wasn’t really conscious of, start to shift, then disappear, one by one. What I didn’t know then, and understand now, is that most of us are walking around with “something,” but we accept it as part of daily living, often because we don’t know there’s a different perspective available to us. This medicine is truly a longevity medicine, correcting moderate health issues so less “muck” can accrue.

If you read some of my blogs you might see how Eastern Medicine can treat a spectrum of issues. It can treat many things well but it can’t treat everything. I welcome whatever issues people might have, as long as it is something I know the medicine will have an impact on. Some of the conditions I treat often are fertility, women’s health,  neuropathies, muscle and nerve pain,  stress and anxiety, mild depression, headaches, and concussion. I absolutely love what I do because acupuncture is often the method of last resort and when someone comes in with a mystery my training in New York pays off. In addition to private practice, I serve as a volunteer on an acupuncture profession committee and with a disaster relief federal pilot program.

Tom Messina – LAc, MS, DiplOM, LMT

Tom Messina, LMT, LAc  – I have been a licensed massage therapist for 30 years, and have integrated many styles and techniques over that time. I attribute my longevity in the practice of massage therapy to daily practice of either qi gong, tai chi, or yoga, taking sufficient renewal time, and eating correctly, for my body.

I decided to become an acupuncturist long ago, after receiving treatment for a sudden, debilitating episode: my lower back muscles seized up, making me unable to stand up straight or walk any distance. At the end of that first treatment, I could stand up tall, and followed up with maintenance visits for several months after that. I also got rolfed in that period and would recommend it as a treatment method in a heartbeat. It’s painful, but it really alters one’s alignment.

I am a Colorado and New York state licensed acupuncturist  and massage therapist, and a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). I have a M.S. of Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, a degree in Massage Therapy from the Swedish Institute, and a certification in CranioSacral Therapy from the Upledger Institute.

I treat a spectrum of issues with a focus on physical injury, pain, and overuse syndromes, using a combination of techniques from massage, Chinese medicine, Trigger Point therapy, and Cranio-Sacral therapy.
